Occupational Therapy

Utilizes purposeful activity to provide independence in daily life skills. Occupational therapists employ the use of developmental tasks to influence neurodevelopment, motor skills, and processing of sensory information.

 
Areas of focus include:
Developmental Skills (gross motor, fine motor, self care)
Therapeutic Exercise (strength and endurance)
Home Program (parent/child instruction)
Muscle Reeducation and stimulation

Upper extremity functions

Speech Therapy

Speech therapy at CPT focuses on the development of language and oral motor skills as well as those functions that support speech and feeding, including respiration and sensory integration.
 

Areas of focus include:

 

   

Language disorders
Feeding
Swallowing
Stuttering
Articulation impairments
Alternative communication methods

Physical Therapy  


Physical therapy at CPT focuses on a child’s ability to access available movement in order to maximize participation in their environment. Our physical therapists help children develop or refine mobility skills such as sitting, crawling, standing, and walking. Our pediatric physical therapists provide detailed evaluations of gross motor, developmental skills, flexibility, balance, strength, coordination and mobility in order to determine each child’s specific needs. Once those needs are determined the physical therapist employs the use of a variety of specialized treatments including neurodevelopment, sensory integration, and myofascial therapy.
 

Areas of focus include:
Posture

Balance
Walking
Mobility
Equipment needs
Muscle Tone
ROM, Strength, Flexibility
Specialized Handling-NDT, joint mobilization, and myofascial release
