 | Building Blocks | Behavioral Intervention |

 

 


Building Blocks is a division of The Center for Pediatric Therapies offering private day-school services for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders ages 3-5. The Building Blocks curriculum is designed based on each child’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) using a variety of methodologies including but not limited to Applied Behavioral Analysis, PECS, Therapeutic Listening, and Sensory Integration. The priority of education at Building Blocks is to teach students how to correctly discriminate among different stimuli, how to follow expressed requests, to assist in the development of expressive language skills, to move students toward meaningful social interaction, to facilitate continued educational experiences in other environments, and to provide an atmosphere of fun and success. After school center-based and home program sessions utilizing Building Blocks methodologies are available by appointment.

Behavioral Intervention


The Center for Pediatric Therapies offers diagnostic and behavioral services for children and adolescents with a variety of medical diagnoses including but not limited to Autism, Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Aspergers, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. Evaluations are completed incorporating a team approach including a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Behavior Specialist, Occupational Therapist, and Speech/Language Pathologist.

 
Behavioral Services available but not limited to are as follows:

  Social skills training


  Life skills training

  Home programming/family support

 Support groups for parents

 Trainings and workshops offered for staff and community


  Educational consultations for families, professionals, and schools
